The CEO said on the JPM conference they were talking to ATT if I remember correct. I would need to go back and listen to it again to be sure.

Sequans TD-LTE Devices to Launch in China

4/14/2014

The M2M and telecommunications industry, laden with terms such as 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE, WiMAX, and HSPA+, among many others, is no stranger to “alphabet soup” when it comes to describing the latest networking technologies. Of course, this list of acronyms barely scratches the surface. As technology constantly evolves, more terms will continue to enter the industry vocabulary. One term that is becoming increasingly familiar in regions such as Asia-Pacific, along with the technology it denotes, is TD-LTE (time-division long-term evolution).

Sequans Communications, www.sequans.com, a 4G chipmaker that supplies LTE and WiMAX chips to OEMs (original-equipment manufacturers) and ODMs (original-design manufacturers) across the globe, is contributing to this growth. The Paris-based company announced it will power two TD-LTE devices for the commercial launch of China Telecom’s, www.chinatelecom-h.com, TD-LTE service, which is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of this year.

Both devices are single-mode TD-LTE CPE (customer-premises equipment) units that will provide China Telecom customers with 4G Internet speeds. The devices are built by two of Sequans’ device-manufacturing partners in China: Datang Mobile, www.datangmobile.cn, a supplier of TDD (time-division duplexing) systems and equipment, and DareGlobal, www.dare-tech.com, a Shanghai-based provider of broadband mobile terminals. Both new devices are based on Sequans’ Mont Blanc LTE Platform.

Sequans says China Telecom, the third largest mobile operator in China, was awarded TD-LTE licenses at the end of last year and it has plans to launch commercial TD-LTE in 100 cities across China. Together with its manufacturing partners, Sequans says it is looking forward to being part of the launch and providing value to China Telecom’s customers.

The things I really like right now is how many products are launching this year. As of lets say a month ago we had a number that were going live this year. Now we get two new products that we had no clue about as of last Q that will also be going live this year. This will be another plus on the next CC. It will also IMO up their guidance and units sold for 2014.
