Sounds like congress is possibly less ethical than any of the shareholders, stakeholders, taxpayers, hedge funds, all at the expense of the shareholders and homeowners. Am I wrong?

did I mention how messed up the economy will be after they get done devastating it after they got rid of GSEs.

SO TRUE - *first time it's been made public.*

The Senate is acting out of revenge, not concern to protect taxpayers as they pretend. Its political scandal at its worst.

After nearly 6 years...

Most of the "players" at Fannie and Freddie have long since been replaced but government goons.

With new senators coming in and the evolution of the house every 2 years... many of them today are greenhorns.

So, long lasting animosities are with who? Who today were around 10-14 years ago when the angst was build up?

Barney and his boy pal are long gone. So, give it a rest and lets get them to do the right thing.

How can we get a national news team to thoroughly investigate this.(CNN, 60 Minutes, etc.) If this can be proven , it would make for huge political theatre, and theoretically save FNMA, and FMCC.

Barney Frank is a Congressman - not a Senator. But your viewpoint remains otherwise just as valid.
