Beamer, re:Even when you take into account that AMD's rated TDP includes instantaneous power spikes and reset it to more of a real world measurement, it's probably still close to 100W, making Conroe a 10-40% better performer at lower power dissipation. Have your cake and eat it, too.
Looks like AMD misclaculated badly by delaying 65mm and hoping their current architecture/process would keep the performance lead. I can see Intel starting in Q3 taking over the performance lead and maintaining it for quite a while, while AMD struggles switching to a new design and process.
