Honestly, I just have a gut feeling that the Ebay enterprise doesn't care anymore. They have what we used to call at my former Japanese Auto employer "Big Company Disease" they just stopped innovating, stopped investigating customer desires, stopped researching what makes them competitive, stopped being leaders.
If they don't get some life back into them, I do think Ebay will start spinning everybody off as fast as they acquired them. Icahn gave up his battle today, but in the long term he may be right.
I think Ebay has turned into a milk cow for its executives, and that is all. When it can't be milked anymore...shoot it.
