#2509 RE: LORTAP KCOTS #2508

I believe the technology is legit. The list of names that are jumping into additive manufacturing is big and getting bigger. And its the big names with cash to burn like GE, Honeywell etc. If you get a chance, visit the SGLB board. There are some very optimistic folks there, granted, but there is also a lot of dd about 3d printing being the future of manufacturing. The future is not in melting a plastic trinket in the comfort of your living room. The future is replacing supply chain and traditional assembly lines with rooms filled with industrial 3d printers. They are working with different materials and are experimenting with many more. They've built a house with one. They've built a car body with one. They have even printed a chunk of liver that survived for thirty days with one. It's getting to the point that if you can draw it on a computer, you can print it. I agree with the price moving on speculation, but there is some legitimacy behind that speculation.
