I never read any speculation about integer units. Perhaps you are confusing that with issue width and/or instruction decoders?

No, the decode issue width is 4. Given that x86 code generally has a load/store instruction for every computational instruction (so integer instructions are 50% of integer code, for example)), I can't imagine you'd need 4 of any single type of execution unit, except in very rare cases.
