The only mainstream OS that *requires* the unique identification capablities of TPM/Palladium is OSX Intel Edition.

The safest way to use a windows box is to run it without internet access.

Umm, if you don't allow it to phone home as part of "activation" doesn't it turn into a pumpkin after 90 days? That's not the new XP licensing rule?

I haven't tried to keep up, but I see the news and roll my eyes. MS-Windows licensing has apparently been a great boon for the Linux TCO argument.
