Covidien is not seeking to develop a robotics platform. I had heard they looked at Titan two years ago and passed at that point. However, this was during multi-port development. Covidien is based in Connecticut and as we know, Titan has picked up a lot of industry PR in the Northeast because of the folks that have joined their development ranks, a lot have come from the Northeast. It's amazing how when you speak to medical industry folks on the West Coast, a lot haven't heard of Titan.

My money is still on acquisition by JnJ or Covidien - the synergies are too apparent.

Flenderson..the 97%+ of Covidien reps will not know if their company is working on a robot. Management will keep this under lock and key. Management is continuing to push their reps to sell against robotics and and they are brainwashing their reps to believe robotics is dangerous and a fad. If reps knew their company was working on a robot then this would affect their conviction in selling against the robot.
