This uses Intel's newest compiler on a single core 3.0GHz and dual core 3.0GHz submission on the exact same platform. No visible improvement.

Sun adds a second processor, and the score improves by more than 5% in base and more than 8% in peak.

Looks like Sun is the one using auto-parallization techniques to artificially raise their SPEC score. Pretty cool from the compiler team, but very difficult to get these routines to put forth gains in general purpose applications.
