TX this week! Any predictions? Almirola was on RaceHub last night talking about the state of RPM, the new deal, team and car performance. Talked about how TX is good place for him, last year finishing 7th or 8th there and looking forward to going. Talked about the great runs at Martinsville and Bristol and how speed seems tobe in teh cars everywhere they have been so far... Trent Owens, etc... I didn't know this, with the new deal with Smithfield they were able to test in the off season...focused on short track program... and first time in years that RPM/Petty Enterprises had the capital to test in the off season. Sounded like they aimed from the hip from season to season for a while do to lack of resources... implying to me they functioned like a start and park team. Doesn't surprise me... Petty's been strapped for a while...that team would overachieve for stretches at a time, then disappear...and I would ask myself... 'damn, what changed?'

Anyway, weather should be decent from the 7 day forecast and we'll see what the attendance will be with good weather. This attendance thing really is bugging me...I don't mean to focus on it, but can't help it when broadcasters say 'near sellout' or 'sellout' and the camera shots contradict it by A LOT.
