Marijuana is cultivated for use as a drug, whether for recreational use (like alcohol)the medical treatment of pain and the use as psychedelic consciousness expander.
Hemp, however, is not commonly cultivated for its drug properties as it is extremely low in THC. Hemp is the plant in the marijuana family containing less than 3% THC.
The uses of hemp as an industrial product are in the tens of thousands.
Some widely known uses are:
- used to make extremely strong fabrics
- used to make paper
- used to make rope
- used as a superfood (hemp hearts)
- used to make building material (hemp crete). Henry Ford made a car body out of hemp.
- used to make oil and fuel.
There are too many uses to list. I recommend some basic research into Hemp applications. You'll be blown away!
Hope this helps.
