Believe it or not I'm primarily in IT and a programmer at heart. So, you and your engineering and my profession are really not so different. More of a hardware versus software - integration being the only thing that we lack between us. :)

In any case, thank you to everyone for such kind words. I have very few (side for my wife) to talk to about stress in this nature - so it just had to come out somewhere. I felt many others on the board would understand.

Fannie Mae (or Freddie Mac) are both stressful stocks to hold for any period of time. If I was day trading it, I'd be much more secure in some aspects - however I'd lose out on the big gains sure to come (well, I personally, statistically speaking, suspect a large profit chance of roughly 94% - 5% break even chance, and 1% total devastation)

We all must trade and/or invest/speculate at our own risk factor, based on our own individual will's. I admit though, EMOTION is a factor that MUST be eliminated in trading. One of the benefits I have is that I am a strong proponent of logic. Beyond that, I can also reduce my emotional exposure on most subjects by forcing myself to look at the situation as a series of probabilities and facts. I personally turn a negative tint to just about EVERYTHING on the stock market so that I can prevent myself from getting excited or emotional. Even so, the recent days and events have been very difficult to hold emotion from showing during the trading hours.
Many of us will potentially risk rash decisions in the near future due to fear, greed or a variety of other factors.

What we all must do is take a deep breath, and I would advise, meditating, prior to every trading day. (FYI the professionals are starting to do it because it works - saw an article the other week about it)

In any case, my primary stress (personally) is due to the wish of cashing out and just day trading every day as a primary profession. I could do that now... but not so well. I'd probably run out of cash sooner than I could make it I feel, but, eh, I have to be safe due to a family. If I was alone I might try it (months ago) and would have had many more shares than even what I've swing-traded for.

I hope once the Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac situations are resolved (hopefully - and likely) later this year, many of us can stay in touch and continue to interact. Heck, maybe we can make our own group-board. (do they have private boards?)

Be well, may everyone trade well or have the willpower to follow through with whatever plan you have.
