The problem could be that if MJ gains general acceptance, growing it will become just farming, with poor margins just like with all the other herbs.
If it remains a niche it will always be hard to compete with home growing.
The one thing people here should really think about imo is that much of the hype around MJ companies is based on the advantage they would have in timing. That doesn't make much sense to me, cause everybody with enough money can set up a green house and start growing in a real short period of time. So if MJ catches on, and it probably will, competition will be fierce, which is again a bad thing for profit margins.
I see more in MJ-related products because of the added value, but I must admit I'm quite an old-fashioned investor (;
