I'd take CALICO as my 1st choice any day. 50/50 partnership and I'm sure they can work out a magic number. I agree that CALICO has been ultra quiet... and I did come across a little update a couple days ago for them. Their plan as of this update was to find as many 100 year old, overall healthy individuals and map their genomes.

In the near future, it is unlikely that any of the science developed by this venture will lead to a diagnostic profile or clinical laboratory tests that pathologists can use to help clinicians who deal with the diseases associated with aging. But should the research team at Calico develop a better understanding of the dynamics of human aging, it would certainly be expected that this knowledge would be used to develop appropriate medical laboratory tests.

.... the only problem I see is, why would they bring on Art Levinson and top Genentech employees just for finding healthy 100 year olds and mapping their genes to find out what a healthy genome looks like, when they know that an unhealthy cell has flipped-PS starting at them....

The more I think of it, that article is like they sent that to press because people were looking for something... but where is the real news CALICO?
