At risk of being politically incorrect, allow me to offer a thought.

Having worked as a senior executive for a Fortune 50 company, I understand when a smaller firm reaches out to a well thought of bigger firm to snag someone with a track record of success, but who has a shorter career runway. Given her age, they did not hire her for a long career and she would not expect one. This raises some interesting possibilities.
