7:55-8:30pm Introduction and short presentations from three new companies.

1- Upper Street Marketing announces acquisition of MagMo. The name MagMo, derived from “Magazine Moment”, is a technology start-up built with the goal of strengthening the conversation between well-known brands and their audience online. It’s a photo sharing tool brands use to create short story’s using a combination of pictures and text that is published through their social media channels to their audience. Here’s a one page summary.
2- Bitzio/Democratique acquires emerging fashion brands with solid talent, unique offerings, and quantifiable growth potential. Our methodology of streamlined operations, established sales and distribution channels, combined with expert mentoring, propels our member brands to profitably while avoiding the pitfalls of inexperience and lack of capital. Among their growing portfolio of fashion brands, Democratique is currently positioned to acquire E-Motion Apparel, Sahaja Knits, Cleo Jewelry Design, and ZMJ Denim and is slated to acquire more by the end of the year.
3- BondIt is the first-to-market cash-flow solution for independent feature film & theater productions using union members, including SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE, AEA and more. Each of these unions requires a security deposit before production begins, and then holds these deposits until after production has wrapped, causing cash-flow issues for the producer. BondIt covers these deposit amounts and allows the production team to focus their cash on hand on post-production, festivals and distribution, instead of struggling and waiting for the return of their deposit. BondIt launched in early January 2014 and the reception has been tremendous. With a demand of over $1.5M in deposit needs in Q1, BondIt is poised for explosive growth.
