AVT management comments on the news that the market could widely expand within a short time

CORONA, Calif., March 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leader in custom vending machines and automated retailing systems commented today on the news that legislators in several large states are pushing for laws to allow the establishment of medical and adult-use marijuana dispensaries.

"We are closely watching those states - particularly the several with large populations and influence - that are taking steps to move forward with the legislative process to legalize marijuana," said James Winsor, CEO of AVT, Inc. "This rapidly growing industry could be profoundly affected by the outcome of this legislation."

New Jersey State Senator Nicholas Scutari hopes his state will become the third to legalize marijuana. Scutari, who sponsored the state's successful medicinal marijuana law, announced that he would introduce a bill that would make New Jersey the third state, after Washington and Colorado, to legalize cannabis. Colorado reportedly netted $2 million in revenue from legal marijuana in January, the first month that sales were permitted.

Florida lawmakers are also setting up the framework for medical marijuana. The Gannett News Press reported that marijuana is on the minds of many people in the Sunshine State. "Florida investors, nurserymen and growers across the state are lining up to get in on the ground floor of the medical marijuana movement, with an eye on the constitutional proposal on the November ballot."

New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Oregon also have legislation pending that will allow for sales of marijuana.

AVT manufacturers high security storage and dispensing systems that are sold exclusively through an established leader in the marijuana industry, as well as machines for the dispensing of accessory products.
