It's all about needed growth hormones. They highly suggest with females, to let them cycle once or they could have incontinence issues at an early age. For males it's really about bone growth and bone density that the Testosterone provides, especially in large breed dogs. It cuts back on bone cancer issues also. My Vet had suggested if we could wait for Charlie to become 2 yrs old, that would be the best, but Charlie has become way too full of himself, so I hope this takes a little of the Macho away. Time will tell.
