You do two arms to see risk (AEs) vs benefit (efficacy). There was dose response AE wise (more AEs for 3mg/kg arm over 1mg/kg arm, and over placebo arm), but there wasn't one efficacy wise. One of main reasons people argued about data inconsistencies BEFORE the company actually announced that was placebo arm had more AEs over 1mg/kg arm which didn't make any sense. Dose response is important metrics in evaluating clinical trial data.
