Of course it is seen ALL OF THE TIME. Regardless, DTC clearing is about the least important aspect of a trade. There are so many brokers who are indifferent with this bs dtc nonsense that is spread around stocks that trade sub penny. Example? If you trade MDIN with Schwab, the cost is exactly the same and the trading is just as easy.

I doubt that it's seen "all the time".
