As I recall...The remaining claims drain to the east into Lake Clark and then into Lake I. This adds an extra buffer and makes it "impractical" for the salmon to spawn at BC. People can see the lakes in EC's maps and follow those to Lake Clark.
Still better drainage, "no" salmon spawing, and more dry than Pebble (These advantages were shown in the EPA docs. I'll try to dig those EPA maps up over the weekend.)
