I don't think I've ever witnessed a stock that is so controlled by shorts as this one

With the understanding that you're much more of a technical trader than I am, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.

Many went long $3's to $6's, recognizing that the stock was on sale. They're not long-term holders, they're traders. Selling in the $7's & $8's is a great trade for them and makes perfect sense.
