I know it has been said over and over but the fact is that FnF are in Conservatorship NOT Receivership which means the government CAN NOT Liquidate or shut down FnF now that they are profitable and are returned to pre crisis levels.
If the government wishes to reform FnF or do any MAJOR changes they have to FIRST release them back to the shareholders then they can go about reforming them.
This is all according to the laws of the conservatorship.
The government should start cleaning their hands with FnF and go about it the correct way before the lawsuits uncover all the foul play for everyone to see. I think the best way for the gov to clean this mess up and come out looking good is to release them for now and then figure out any reforms that need to be done, it'd be a win win all around in my opinion.
