The key to S/P growth will be television ratings and licensing revenues. Both suffered during the fan malaise of the last few years. Both metrics are driven by track attendance which drives fan enthusiasm and loyalty.

Bristol will be a key indicator, this weekend. The weather forecast looks good. And last year's Spring race was poorly attended, so it should be easy to note improvements. Food City is a popular, long-standing sponsor who does lots of strong local promo so I think this is a good indicator of fan engagement for 2014.
