The bill- or story, and the very unlikely odds that it will go anywhere, are not the problem. The problem is the headline which pops up everywhere reading "Sens. Dumb and Dumber propose plan to kill Fannie and Freddie". This immediately sends unsure and unskilled investors heading to the exits and missing out on an opportunity to greatly increase their portfolios. When this happens tomorrow, which hopefully it won't since it will be the third straight day of the same news, I personally will remember that this has become a waiting game and patience pays off best when the game is waiting.
