Here's my trick on sell orders. So many times people set their sells at whole round numbers and more often than not there are other sell orders out there also that may have been ahead of yours and they would execute first.

In your example, I would place the sell order a tick below the whole # so instead of .012 put it in for .0119 or .0118. Many people do not do it that way and just use .012.

Same on a $12.00 stock. If you want to sell when it hits $13.00 put your order in at $12.97 or $12.98 as most people think whole round numbers and will use the $13.00 and then you have to compete with them.
