I endorse your first paragraph 100%!

In another place and time I lived under a facist regime. At that time I was as conservative as they come and I thought that liberals were communists.

Big mistake.

Upon coming to this country (some 20 years ago) I learned to appreciate a different type of "everyday living". (With all its defects at that time)

Now I'm politically agnostic --> there might be good goverment but it's neither of the alternatives offered...


I'm sad to say that I see in the Bush II administration a marked tendency towards facism. (If we are not there already...)

The American people at large are going to realize what facism means for them only when it's too late.

Pity.

(But of course I'm preaching to the choir...)

PS: Orwell's 1984 should be required reading everywhere. (It's a manual on controling the masses, so current today half a century later)
