Leo...my take on the Rueters news is just a hope that the Sao Tomeans haven't screwed up the treaty once and for all with this latest shannigan. It makes one wonder if the Nigerian side of the equation forced the signing ceremony today all together. If not....its a sad thing that STP wasn't prepared.

Where do we stand? As I see, we're up the creek without a boat much less a paddle if the treaty has been disolved. If its only the need for a double check of the JOA's of the minority interests.....the signing could take place rather quickly, and those that sold are burned come Monday morning.

My hunch is that Menezes will "fix the damage" that it has placed on Nigeria and the JDZ and do a quick check and have the documents signed.

Once these contracts are signed....its all over for XOM/APC or anyone to have any hope of getting a piece of the action. Last ditch last ditch effort? Hopefully the efforts didn't push Nigeria over the cliff.

Leo....I didn't know your father personally (as you are aware) but from my involvement in this stock, I had contact with several who did know him well and you can STAND PROUD. He was a great man and good friend to many.
