Yes, they do take time and I found a prime example just last week.......A nephew opened a Scottrade account in early 2003 with like $3000 and a little (maybe $1000) margin.......He wanted a few "safe" plays (buying like 100-125 shares each) and I gave him NVDA under $10, AMD at $6 or $7, RMBS at $6ish and MUEI at $3.......Well, MUEI (now INLD) reverse split at 1 for 10 later, and would be like 50 cents today----for a big loss----but the rest have gone up BIGTIME........NVDA is $45, AMD $40+, and RMBS $30+........He was certainly surprised when I told him AMD and NVDA were selling at $40+ and RMBS at $30+.......He had not checked the account (go figure) in a couple of years and was thrilled to see it is NOW worth well over $15,000.........His mothers "safe" picks of Coke and Disney have basically stayed the same since.........
