Weed 2 on CNN at 10p EST Tonight
I don't know how many of you were around last year when CNN aired Dr. Sanjay Gupta's special Weed 1. Basically Gupta completely reversed his stance on cannabis, becoming pro-medical marijuana after years of being against it. The special provided a look at the many medical applications of marijuana including heart wrenching stories of children using CBDs and THC to treat life threatening ailments.

Gupta's special made waves in the publicly traded cannabis sector. ERBB and many other rose 15-50% the next day but due to the still tenuous legality of the industry just one year ago, the bounce was unsustainable.

However it is a completely different year. I caught a promo for Weed 2 on CNN this morning. It opens with Dr. Gupta saying "I think we've really been tricked here..", an obvious reference to the past propaganda against cannabis. One of the reasons Dr. Gupta is so influential is not only his media exposure but he is a very likely candidate for US Surgeon General, especially with Hillary.

I don't have any specifics about the special and I am not expecting ERBB to get a nod, but overall this is just another pinch of gunpowder to sprinkle in the keg. The next step is rescheduling which will likely happen soon once the folks in the government get it together. My guess is that cannabis may drop as far as Schedule 3 after being wrongly classified as Schedule 1 for far too long.
