Manufacturing Facility time frame!
The time it takes to set up a manufacturing facility depends on a LOT of factors. I have worked for larger corporations, where the facility set-up was quite rapid (with large corporate backing and deep pockets). I have also worked with smaller corporations that had a much tighter budget. Those facilities took much more time to bring on-line. I also dabbled in the set-up of a production line for some FDA approved medical devices (surgical laser devices). I can say that anything associated with the medical world (FDA etc) takes much longer to get online than a typical industrial design product line. Timeline delays for a medical facility do not worry me at all (especially for start ups). However, If I saw these types of delays at say, Honeywell, or General Dynamics for an industrial component, I would be worried!
