Lets not forget that the crux of the governments arguments is that future solvency of the GSEs is uncertain.
A 60 dollar per share stock price would absolutely destroy their argument.
If you truly believe that the government would do anything to weaken their claim that the GSEs are worthless, then you are nuts.
I can see it now...
Court: So, you believe the GSEs are worthless?
Government: Yes we do. The shareholders should get no recovery.
Court: So, if you believe the shares are worthless and the shareholders should not recover, why did you uplist the company, allowing more institutional trading, increased profits for investors, and a more profitable company?
Government: Erm...uhm...it seemed like a good idea at the time?
