I agree with you that generally it would be bad IR. All I sought to point out was that in some instances it may be better not to.

For example, where doing so would hint at a possible future event which they are obligated to keep out of the public domain or where doing so will unnecessarily dampen investor confidence.

We will find out if any of these exceptions apply here in the coming weeks at which time we can all assess whether it was justified or not.
