OT: WikiVest Geek Talk : My basic problem with wikivest is, you enter your username and password and an email. No other info, so they state there's no way to identify you. But even still that's enough info to be stolen for me.

So, they encrypt the user/pword and put it into a database then. But the info has to be decrypted and then sent via https is my guess, to my brokerage firm, in a read only request. So, again, they say its all read only, no harm done. But the user/password has to be decrypted to be sent to the brokerage firm. Yes, the transaction itself is encrypted, but...

Why chance giving your user/password info at all? I mean it's my money/account.

Also any IT Database Manager would have access in theory to the user/pword in the database. Yes its encrypted but so what? They're in charge of the encryption process and have the key.

I'm not sure how profit.ly works. just my thoughts. Doesn't seem worth it. Thoughts?

These thoughts are just mine, not right, not wrong, just thoughts. Invest in what you believe in, not what I believe in. Do your research, and invest in the facts.
