I was watching Odysseys t.v. show and their deep water recovery costs were in excess of $100,000 per day (please correct me it I am wrong). Shallow water recovery costs (seafarer)can cost as little as $30,000 per MONTH. This is why it is good to be in the good graces of states and nations because they give out rights to dig on shallow wrecks and sometimes even help you look through their archives. Currently, Odyssey has little competition because it takes big money and equipment to salvage deep treasure and it is far more difficult to find a wreck in deep ocean. Few want to risk big money on such a risky venture. Kudos to Odyssey for scoring this contract. I hope it works out for them. All IMO. Please correct any errors above if you know differently.
