I did some research last night in regards to the process the DHS has when performing an AoA and the length of time that it usually takes for proposals/contracts to be approved and signed. Here are the following statistics:

56 Aerospace AoA's conducted from 2000-2008 the average length was 20 months. 61% took 13-24 months to complete.

22 Major Acquisition AoA's conducted from 2003 to 2008. 57% took between 13 to 30 months to complete.

The point of all this is that of course people are getting impatient with how long this study is taking. But the fact of the matter is, our government is slow in EVERYTHING they do. That's a given.

I'm not sure when this AoA began but if I'm not mistaken I thought it was the beginning of 2013? I'm actually not sure so if someone knows the date this was initiated, please post as a public reply to this message. If it was indeed January 2013, it could very well be completed at any time during this year.
