(1) The scam speculation can reasonably (and only) be settled by either visiting the lab or paying someone to do so for you.
(2) Unless you have your life savings riding on SLTD - why worry that much ?
(3) The only new (i.e. recent) event of interest is selling by the CEO. Agree this can be a worrying sign. My guess is Jim simply needs funds to live off - after some years of relatively frugal living trying to make a go of SLTD.
(4) I would not touch HYSR either - but that's another matter!
(5) Any "connections" you see are pretty vague, probably ancient history and there is no reason to think they matter anyway!
