I think most people were expecting AMD to increase IPC by 10% or more with the bandwidth from DDR2. I'll see if I can dig up any past posts. But my point here is that DDR2 shouldn't give any significant improvements (maybe 0-10%, once the memory controller is "fixed"), and I don't expect more than a new speed grade from SiGe (2.6GHz dual core for mainstream and 2.8GHz "special edition"). So while Intel has a number of new cores coming with interesting performance prospects, AMD may not see more than 15% for the entire year, including both frequency and socket AM2 prospects.
