I saw that too, and IMO it was all an act to make it look like doctor slime is not part of the team nor taken seriously. And from the sounds of it, people fell for the ploy. As to how important a role he plays; since when does GC introduce shareholders to other shareholders at an AGM in front of everyone? :

As far as I know, (from Hand's history books) decosta has been around longer than GC. He and LP have been promoting the stock and property together since day one, Hand has documents to prove it. It is extremely naive to think that decosta has simply lost objectivity. You don't make up excuses for every misstep and defend liars like LP etc without a serious agenda. There is one shareholder who claims he bought 12 million shares on decosta's promotion. Decosta is not the only one that is part of the promo crew, but the only one I can talk about here. Anyone who speaks with so much authority, yet is consistently wrong, is not just another shareholder. It is not coincidence that decosta talks about the importance of the mensura, and then we see it in an update that it was the reason for a long delay. Its' no coincidence that he goes on and on about becoming a PG,and then they put out news acquiring more property. It's no coincidence the company never , EVER delivers, and decosta starts blabbing about the lalond article and how it takes 17 years to go from exploration to production. Meanwhile his partner LP is telling everyone this "week". The only photo I saw of decosta at the last agm was him hanging out with LP. There are no coincidences when you run a 16 year mining scam and get away with it.
