If Intel were to follow your advice, in 3 years you'd be screaming at them for making such a stupid decision.



My point is simply that if you're going to go all out with a custom CPU core, and if you've got a MASSIVE process lead, then why not make it count? Why piddle around matching the performance of all of your 28nm stock ARM competitors when you can do something truly outstanding?

I didn't think 3 years ago that I'd be "screaming at them" for all of these mistake they've been making in phones/tablets. Android Bay Trail MIA, Merrifield late and with no major design wins, 14nm products delayed to the end of 2014. XMM 7160 launching in late 2013.

It's just a mess :(
