If the company remains silent, the share price will probably drop further which means more shares will be required to be issued for any future acquisitions.

And at what price would they be issued? 60% of market? 50% of market? Less?

To be able to use fewer shares, if there is a requirement to benefit current shareholders, the current price should be supported by material information, not intentions.

But hey, that's just my observations.
