Mercedes loves SPD so much that they actually reinvented the roof of their flagship S-class by really making it so much larger . They want to show off this technology big time because they know it will sell more cars . They have been selling other models with a smaller SPD roof for about 3 years now and they know that the take rates were very good . They are so proud of this technology that they now want to display it very prominently with this big panoramic roof . This is a real game changer for luxury cars that will eventually change the design of many other autos in the future .
