Universal Communication Systems, Inc. Secures $2.5 Million in New Corporate Funding; Company to Announce Major Plans for Expansion Shortly

MIAMI BEACH, FL--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 17, 2006 -- Universal Communication Systems, Inc. (OTC BB:UCSY.OB - News) company chairman and CEO, Michael J. Zwebner announced today that the company has successfully secured $2.5 million in new financing in the form of convertible debt from a consortium of investors. The funding will be done in two major traunch's, half upon the execution of the transaction documents, and the second upon the effectiveness of a registration statement to be filed with the S.E.C. The company plans to prepare and file the registration statement within 60 days. A further announcement relating to this proposed financing will be made soon.
