I informed the lecturer from Westinghouse about Swansons law, the real life expectancy of new panels and the warranties that accompany, and new technologies in development. He got visibly angry and said he would be retired before solar starts to have an effect, I agreed.
He said that it costs too much to purchase and install the panels. I said it costs too much to build new plants and I mentioned solar leasing and no cost instillation. He started stuttering with anger then he brought up solyndra and went into a rant about our president and the deterioration of the middle class.

I told him not to worry because new technology is on the way and subsidies will no longer be necessary.

The lecture was an hour long and he went out of his way to knock solar the whole time but didn't say much about coal, gas, or wind.
