The teeny size of this program makes any "correction" of irregularities in it inconsequential to any meaningful control of healthcare costs. I fail to see how any inventory issues can occur if a more expensive drug is substituted for a cheaper one; I can see why the higher cost billed Medicare would be a problem. But this "issue" is STUPID when the 800 gorilla on overcharges is in the exam, operating and recovery rooms where medical "professionals" routinely perform unnecessary procedures, bill outlandish amounts for items of minimal cost and bleed the government for $trillions in waste and fraud.

Did you ever read the Time magazine cover article on healthcare spend, last summer? I can find a link for it, probably. Now THAT was a bombshell. This stuff is just Pablum.

Tighter control of Walgreens will make zero impact on fixing anything.
