"revenues would be up"

this is a prediction about a future commercial outcome

two words: future, commerce

future - has not happened yet, subject to unforseeable effects

commerce - people buying things. people are complex creatures
who often act irrationally and unpredictably. They all add up to the
global economy.

Only a very young child fully expects any predictions stated about
the future to be 100% ironclad. Young children and greedy lawyers
are the reason for fine print. Try reading the fine print.
