Interesting that Seeking Alpha removed my comment describing the article as ridiculous, and full of untruths. I said I thought it ought to be illegal, and compared it to another "hit-piece" by another then anonymous hedge fund manager, "Alfred Little," aka John Carnes. Mr. Carnes is being charged by Canadian authorities for fraud, for the libel spouted on Seeking Alpha (four articles) and his own web site alfredlittle.com about Silvercorp (SVM):

http://www.vancouversun.com/business/Short+seller+high+profile+Silvercorp+controversy+accused+fraud/9307989/story.html

Seeking Alpha publishes the hit pieces, but not when the authors of hit pieces are accused of fraud, using SA as a willing party to get their message out:

http://seekingalpha.com/instablog/16577012-umberto-v/2513291-regulators-come-after-jon-r-carnes-aka-alfred-little-for-fraud-against-silvercorp-metals-inc

So, maybe some day there will be justice for the world's "anonymous" short sellers who post false information. Their identity becomes known, and regulators deal with them.

I'm still amazed at the lows to which people are capable, just to make some money. I'm also surprised SA seems more biased than I thought (for instance, removing my post, and refusing to publish the other side).

Perhaps the moral of the Silvercorp story is that when someone makes such outrageous allegations, it does provide a taint for a while, even if eventually proven to be false. Let's hope this doesn't evolve into numerous lawsuits that take away from what should be the true focus: getting the Cides into the clinic to finally show the world they work - both to save lives and makes us investors some profits!
