"Flappy Bird," the enormously addictive game that has been downloaded millions of times, was pulled from app stores today after its creator said it had ruined his "simple life."

The game no longer appears in search on Google Play and in Apple's App Store, where it topped the free app charts last week.

Creator Dong Nguyen, who is based in Hanoi, Vietnam, tweeted a warning on Saturday that "Flappy Bird" would soon be grounded.

His Tweet read, "I am sorry Flappy Bird users, 22 hours from now I will take Flappy Bird down. I cannot take this anymore."

During an interview last week, Nguyen said "Flappy Bird" was raking in $50,000 a day in revenue from in-app advertisements.

According to his Twitter account, it seems Nguyen had no idea his game would be a soaring success. He also said the game had ruined his simple life.
