GSE Shareholder "Ralph Nader" to Hold DC Roundtable Seeking Investor ‘Respect’

" ... The Wednesday roundtable, sponsored by Nader’s recently founded investor rights group, Shareholder Respect, will feature former U.S. Solicitor General Ted Olson; American Enterprise Institute Fellow James Glassman; and National Community Reinvestment Coalition President and CEO John Taylor. Consumer advocate and GSE shareholder Ralph Nader isn’t giving up his quest to help Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac investors, including himself, “escape financial limbo." This week Nader will host a roundtable on the impact of the GSE conservatorships.

Despite being billed as open to the public and media, the downtown Washington, DC, event has not been widely advertised, even on Shareholder Respect’s own website, though select industry insiders have received personal e-mail invites from Nader himself.

“With lawmakers on Capitol Hill considering legislation that purports to reform the GSEs and likely determine the fate of investors in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, this discussion comes at an important time,” Nader writes in his invitation e-mail provided to IMFnews.

Nader has spent years demanding satisfaction for GSE shareholders from the Obama administration, as well as from lawmakers in Congress. For coverage of the event, see the upcoming edition of Inside The GSEs, available online Friday.
