kat: posting negative information
Here is the old debate again. Why do people feel it is wrong to post negative information but okay to post positive information. It seems to be perfectly acceptable to say "EZR stock, to the moooooooon!!! We will all be godzillionaires!!!" yet it's not okay to say "I personally don't believe that EZR is a good investment." Is this just because we were taught, if you can't say something positive, don't say anything at all? These boards are for stock debates not tea party conversation. The positive person will be applauded and cheered. The negative person will be booed then probably sued. How come companies never sue positive posters? Is not the above positive post misleading? Could someone lose money by reading it and then investing? People have lost more money reading fake positive posts than real negative posts yet only the person posting real negative news gets sued just because they want to shut them up.
I don't believe in this whole paid basher myth. I think it's just a concept of the stock promoters. "Bashers never bash a bad stock! Paid bashers want your shares cheeeeep!" The only thing that is wrong is if someone forges a negative company press release. That is very, very wrong and that person should be sued and the posts deleted. If a person posts an honest negative news item on a message board, people read it, decide to sell their shares, that is not wrong. They should be thankful that someone posted the news item but instead they just shoot the messenger. It's a lot more difficult to post negative items than positive ones.
